The configuration file 'G:virtualOS X YosemiteOS X YosemiteOS X Yosemite.vmx' was created by a VMware product that is incompatible with this version of VMware Workstation and cannot be used. In the interim, though, the only solution is a non-solution: disable 3D acceleration (in the Display section of the virtual machine's Settings panel). (The following problem does not affect Nvidia-equipped Macs running 10.5.7.) I got word from VMware last night that OS X 10.5. According to VMware's blog entry on the problem, when you try to use 3D acceleration on such machines running 10.5.7, you will "likely see issues ranging from slow performance, to incorrect rendering, and even crashes."Īccording to the blog post, both Apple and ATI are aware of the problem, and are working to correct it. If youre using VMware Fusion to run virtual Windows OSes with 3D graphics enabled, and youre doing so on a Mac equipped with an ATI video card, youll want to hold off on updating to OS X 10.5.7, if you havent done so as of yet.
